By accessing or using AuTrans ("the Service"), operated by AuTrans ("we", "us", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. We may update these terms at any time, and continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
AuTrans provides AI-powered audio transcription services with support for African languages, including Nigerian English, Pidgin, Yoruba, Hausa, and Igbo. The Service includes transcription, speaker diarization, AI-generated summaries, transcript chat, and export functionality. We also provide free browser-based audio, video, and subtitle processing tools.
To use transcription features, you must create an account using a valid email address or Google sign-in. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
AuTrans provides free browser-based audio, video, and subtitle tools. These tools process files entirely on your device using WebAssembly. No files are uploaded to our servers when using free tools. Free tools require no account and have no usage limits.
Transcription is billed based on audio duration. The Free plan includes a one-time 30 minutes. Paid plans (Starter and Pro) include higher monthly allocations. When an allocation is used up, transcription pauses — you are never charged an automatic overage fee. You may transcribe additional files on a pay-per-file basis at the published per-file rate. Prices are listed in Nigerian Naira (NGN). We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice. Unused hours do not roll over between billing periods.
You retain all rights to audio files you upload and transcripts generated from them. By uploading audio, you grant us a limited license to process the file for the purpose of providing transcription services. We never use your audio files for model training. We use your text corrections to improve Nigerian-language accuracy only if you opt in (off by default; you can withdraw and delete at any time) — see our Privacy Policy for details. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload and transcribe any audio content.

AuTrans uses AI for transcription. While we strive for high accuracy, transcription output may contain errors, especially with poor audio quality, heavy accents, or unsupported languages. Transcripts should be reviewed before use in legal, medical, or other critical contexts. We do not guarantee the accuracy of any transcription output.
Uploaded audio files are stored securely in encrypted cloud storage. You can delete your recordings and transcripts at any time from your dashboard. Upon account deletion, all associated data will be permanently removed within 30 days.
We aim to maintain high uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or factors beyond our control. We are not liable for any loss resulting from service interruptions.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time from your settings page. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately, and your data will be deleted in accordance with our data retention policy.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AuTrans shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria.
